Tick Tock (Book 2 of Shakespeare Mysteries) J Robert Kennedy

 photo ticktock_zpsba12ca47.jpg
Crime Scene tech Frank Brata digs deep and finds the courage to ask his colleague, Sarah, out for coffee after work. Their good time turns into a nightmare when Frank wakes up the next morning covered in blood, with no recollection of what happened, and Sarah's body floating in the tub. Determined not to go to prison for a crime he's horrified he may have committed, he scrubs the crime scene clean, and, tormented by text messages from the real killer, begins a race against the clock to solve the murder before his own co-workers, his own friends, solve it first, and find him guilty. Billionaire Richard Tate is the toast of the town, loved by everyone but his wife. His plans for a romantic weekend with his mistress ends in disaster, waking the next morning to find her murdered, floating in the tub. After fleeing in a panic, he returns to find the hotel room spotless, and no sign of the body. An envelope found at the scene contains not the expected blackmail note, but something far more sinister. Two murders, with the same MO, targeting both the average working man, and the richest of society, sets a rejuvenated Detective Shakespeare, and his new reluctant partner, Amber Trace, after a murderer whose motivations are a mystery, and who appears to be aided by the very people they would least expect--their own. Tick Tock, Book #2 in the internationally bestselling Detective Shakespeare Mysteries series, picks up right where Depraved Difference left off, and asks a simple question: What would you do? What would you do if you couldn't prove your innocence, but knew you weren't capable of murder? Would you hide the very evidence that might clear you, or would you turn yourself in and trust the system to work?

Tick Tock book 2 of Shakespeare Mysteries Series was also a good read by author J Robert Kennedy but in my opinion not as good as Depraved Difference.  Don't get me wrong I liked Tick Tock and I do recommend reading it. Maybe it's because I'm still sulking over Detective Eldridge in Depraved Difference. Tech geek Frank has really shocked me to the core in Tick Tock. Not once did I believe Frank was a murder but you never know. I never thought that of Eldridge either. Could you really imagine waking up and finding a dead body in your bathtub? Really what would you do?

Depraved Difference (Book 1 of Shakespeare Mystery) by J. Robert Kennedy

photo depraved_zps62a24aeb.jpg Depraved Difference (A Detective Shakespeare Mystery, Book #1)
 J. Robert Kennedy
Would you help, would you run, or would you just watch?
When a young woman is brutally assaulted by two men on the subway, her cries for help fall on the deaf ears of onlookers too terrified to get involved, her misery ended with the crushing stomp of a steel-toed boot. A cell phone video of her vicious murder, callously released on the Internet, its popularity a testament to today’s depraved society, serves as a trigger, pulled a year later, for a killer. Emailed a video documenting the final moments of a woman’s life, entertainment reporter Aynslee Kai, rather than ask why the killer chose her to tell the story, decides to capitalize on the opportunity to further her career. Assigned to the case is Hayden Eldridge, a detective left to learn the ropes by a disgraced partner, and as videos continue to follow victims, he discovers they were all witnesses to the vicious subway murder a year earlier, proving sometimes just watching is fatal. From the author of The Protocol, Depraved Difference is a fast-paced murder suspense novel with enough laughs, heartbreak, terror and twists to keep you on the edge of your seat, then knock you flat on the floor with an ending so shocking, you’ll read it again just to pick up the clues.

Author J. Robert Kennedy holds his audience captive in this spell bounding Mystery's Best Seller  Depraved Difference. I was held hostage to this awesome read. Depraved Difference was so good I had to read it a second time to make sure I hadn't missed anything and put the clues together because OMG the ending. I never would have thought it. This book is filled with lots of twists you'll never figure out the ending... Best Mystery I've read in awhile, highly recommend a must read. I'm ready for the next in this series Tic Tock and The Redeemer.

The Fallen Star - Jessica Sorensen

 photo fallenstar_zps07843dd9.jpg
For eighteen year-old Gemma, life has never been normal. Up until recently, she has been incapable of feeling emotion. And when she’s around Alex, the gorgeous new guy at school, she can feel electricity that makes her skin buzz. Not to mention the monsters that haunt her nightmares have crossed over into real-life. But with Alex seeming to hate her and secrets popping up everywhere, Gemma’s life is turning into a chaotic mess. Things that shouldn't be real suddenly seem to exist. And as her world falls apart, figuring out the secrets of her past becomes a matter of life and death.

Jessica Sorensen The Fallen Star was an awesome book. It gets a 5 in buzzing reviews a must read. It left me craving more, can't wait to get started on the next in this series The Underworld. I'm just dying to know if Alex will save Gemma one last time or turn his back on her. Gemma is not your typical eighteen year-old. With her freakish violet eyes and doesn't feel emotion of any kind. You would think that was bizarre enough but oh no things gets much worse. I could't imagine not feeling any type of emotion,it's unnatural and creepy. Speaking of creepy, could you imagine your nightmares coming to life. I would so freak the freak out....Which I would freak out a lot in this book if I was Gemma. Gemma's more tougher, stronger and powerful than she thinks...Check out the rest of the Fallen Star Series...

Book Review- Enchantment (The Channie Series Book 1)- Charlotte Abel

Enchantment

Channie is a lovable teenage mage that lives a simple but magical life with her clannish community deep in the Ozark Mountains. She’s blessed with the ability to enchant those around her, charming not only her family and friends, but any boy with a pulse that doesn’t know how to shield himself against her magic. When her father’s gambling addiction earns the wrath of a powerful mage, the family is forced to flee for their lives. They escape to the suburbs of Colorado hoping to hide amongst Magically Disabled people (like you and me). Channie’s parents are overwhelmed by the modern world and panic when they catch her flirting with a group of “dirty-minded, non-magical city-boys.” They strip away her power of enchantment and replace it with a chastity curse that automatically zaps any boy foolish, or courageous, enough to pursue her. Josh Abrim -- a BMX racer with a killer smile, Olympic dreams and dangerous secrets of his own -- is exactly that kind of boy. When he and Channie realize their interest in each other is more than just friendship, she turns to dark and forbidden magic, determined to break the curse keeping them apart. Her inexperience makes matters infinitely worse and unleashes a malevolent force with the power to destroy everything they love … including each other.
"I think this series will be a hit for younger readers. If you like young adult, paranormal, romance and lots of action I recommend you to read Enchantment. Charlotte Abel made the characters seem so real that I could relate to each of them(well without the magic)... I give it a Buzzing 4 well written all around great read. Looking forward to reading the rest of The Channie Series.."

"I've been specital to reading Fifty Shades of Grey by EL James. I know you should never judge a book by it's cover/title,don't know how many times I express this to my kids. Come to find out I did just that the title didn't appeal to me in the slightest. However I kept hearing all these brave reviews and how awesome the book was.. So I put Fifty Shades on my book list of wanting to read.. To my surprise it didn't take long for me to get into it. One minute I was just starting the book the next I'm on the last page. For starters this is for MATURE Audiences and Very Erotica. Needless to say Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey kept me very intrigued during all that time. I believe they were made for each other, some of the stuff they do... Author EL James sure let her creative juices flow on this series.."

When her uncle Eric is murdered, Jayné travels to Denver to settle his estate, only to learn that it's all hers — and vaster than she ever imagined. The It Girl meets The Exorcist in this chilling, haunted boarding school tale

New-girl Lindsay discovers all is not right at the prestigious Marlwood Academy for Girls. Ethereal, popular Mandy and her clique are plotting something dangerous. Lindsay overhears them performing strange rituals, and sees their eyes turn black. It doesn't help that the school itself is totally eerie, with ancient, dilapidated buildings tucked into the Northern California woods, a thick white fog swirling through campus. There are hidden passageways, odd reflections in the windows at night, and scariest of all is the vast lake rumored to have captured the ghost of a girl who drowned many years ago.

What Lindsay doesn't yet realize is that Mandy and her cohorts are becoming possessed by spirits who have haunted the school for two hundred years. Spirits who want someone dead...

And that someone is Lindsay.

This is totally an awesome book, I loved it. I hated for it to end and the twist Holder put at the end. OMG OMG,ok SHHH hush not going to spoil it... Lets just say Possessions gave me goosebumps from beginning to end and left me wanting more.

The girls from Marlwood Academy is anything but nice, they are evil down to the very core... Are the grils at the Academy really being possessed or is Lindsay just having another one of her break downs??? Will Lindsay figure everything out before it's to late? Will she be able to save her new BFF (Julie) from this wicked crowed?? What actually happened all those years ago at Marlwood???

I'm totally siked to read the next book in this series,The Evil Within. I really want to know what happens to Troy. Is he part of the cruel sickness at Marlwood or is he an actual victim???

Review - Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl

There were no surprises in Gatlin County.
We were pretty much the epicenter of the middle of nowhere. At least, that's what I thought. Turns out, I couldn't have been more wrong. There was a curse. There was a girl. And in the end, there was a grave.
Lena Duchannes is unlike anyone the small Southern town of Gatlin has ever seen, and she's struggling to conceal her power and a curse that has haunted her family for generations. But even within the overgrown gardens, murky swamps and crumbling graveyards of the forgotten South, a secret cannot stay hidden forever.
Ethan Wate, who has been counting the months until he can escape from Gatlin, is haunted by dreams of a beautiful girl he has never met. When Lena moves into the town's oldest and most infamous plantation, Ethan is inexplicably drawn to her and determined to uncover the connection between them. In a town with no surprises, one secret could change everything.

Garcia and Stohl did a hor·rif·ic job on Beautiful Creatures I was blown away and not by all the storms raging in Gatlin County nor the Battle of Honey Hill either. I must say "when it rains it pours"...

To begin with the way the story was taking place I thought it was from a females prospective (Lena's)but turns out it was of Ethan's. Through out the story I didn't feel that Ethan was heroic the way they protrade him to be. I thought of him as just like any other teenage boy "whipped"...
For Lena well all she does through out the entire book is gloom over if she's going to turn dark on her 16 th birthday like her cousin Ridley had. Well maybe the book a be more interesting if she had...
Ridley maybe dark but I think I like her the best. She didn't sit around mopping, whining nor complains about every little thing. She uses her powers to her advantage and then some....

If it wasn't bad enough, what really gripped my azz about this book was the fact that Garcia and Stohl had the nerve,to use a scene from the movie Carrie. Well not exactly word for word but that's the vibes I was feeling when Ethan took Lena to the prom and ha ties broke loose... I couldn't believe that they actually thought that part would sit well with the readers....I just thought that was a cheap rip off if you ask me...

If Beautiful Darkness is anything like this one, I must say I do not care to read it. An to think this book had such raving reviews...

"In this simple story belonging to the third level of Herbster Readers, young Herbie is scared to go underwater but is helped by his imagination."--Provided by publisher.

Herbie is becoming one of my sons favorite charters. Jumping into the pool,is like the thrid book he done brought home of the Herbie series. Although I'm not all that crazy about Herbie(guess cause I'm an adult lol)but I have to addmitt these books are easy for the youngsters to read and understand. While reading this book to my son,(whom's five) asked Why is Herbie scared to go under water?? I'm not scared....I smiled and said well everybody's afraid of something and water is just not one of yours.

Jetta's necklace is missing and all signs point to Emily Elizabeth. But Clifford knows Emily Elizabeth is no thief! Clifford, T-Bone, and Cleo sniff out clues to solve the mystery. No clue is too small for this Big Red Dog!

My daugther loves Clifford The Red Dog, so I wasn't all that surprised when she brought home this book, from her school library. I believe all of Clifford's books teaches our children about everyday life events in such a fun creative way. In this particular book Clifford Finds A Clue,I think it teaches our youngsters a very good lesson. Don't go around accusing others of stealing unless you know for sure that they were the actual one who stole it. Not only is it mean but it actually hurts the other person feelings. So unless you want it done to you don't do it to others....

Review - Fang by James Patterson

Angel says that Fang will be the first to die, and Angel is never wrong. Maximum Ride is used to living desperately on the run from evil forces sabotaging her quest to save the world—but nothing has ever come as close to destroying her as this horrifying prophetic message. Fang is Max's best friend, her soul mate, her partner in the leadership of her flock of winged children. A life without Fang is a life unimaginable.
When a newly created winged boy, the magnificent Dylan, is introduced into the flock, their world is upended yet again. Raised in a lab like the others, Dylan exists for only one reason: he was designed to be Max's perfect other half. Thus unfolds a battle of perfection versus passion that terrifies, twists, and turns . . . and meanwhile, the apocalypse is coming.

Let me start out by saying that I'm a huge fan of James Patterson. He's a brilliant author. I love just about every novel that he has ever written. He puts his talent to good use when it comes to writing.

Fang is the 6th book in the Maximum Ride series, however It was the first book I read from this series. I have to admit I hate reading a series out of order, but Fang was such a good book that it wouldn't have any problems of standing alone on it's own... Still I would like to go back and read the rest in this series...

They call themselves bird kids, cause they have angel like wings and they stick together like a flock of birds does. The bird kids have many enemies,if it's not evil god scientists wanting to improve the world( by doing harmful experiments on humans),it's the erasers(werewolves) trying to emulate them. I'm all about helping to improve the world but I have to agree with Max(leader of the flock) on this one. I couldn't jeopardize my flock after what I've learned about the not so great Dr. Hans.

Who do he think he is (DR Hans)??? He created Dylan another type of bird kid to be Max's perfect half. Come on now he may be drop dead gorgeous, but I fell in love with Fang.. Fang has always been there for the flock, fought beside them, helped Max out quite a few times when the kids got unruly. So to me Fang is Max's perfect half, her soul mate.. "You can lead a camel to water but you can not make him drink". That's the way I feel about that little scenario. So leave Fang and Max alone they're prefect for each other.
